Figure 13. Preserve |
(Folk Rock)
[Chorus]
The oyster’s are running
Their shells said to me.
Gone are the days of
Oysters in the bay.
[Verse 1]
In a few short years
Padilla formed flotillas,
As Fidalgo long decayed.
The oyster’s… They scared away.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Verse 2]
Birch followed suit,
As pollutants bore sway,
Relentless in pursuit
Of an oyster-less day.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Instrumental]
[Bridge]
So sad, signs unheeded,
Thin-shelled parents declared.
No food, no bed—
We’re all but dead!

While it’s too late for us,
We now fear the worst.
Will this greedy curse,
Destroy you, as Us?
[Repeat Chorus]
